Happy Christmas 2013

IMG_0156Christmas 2013 has blown in with wild storms and lashing rain. Scores of roads across the south of England are blocked by fallen trees and 25 people were trapped in their cars by floodwater. Closer to home, our roof has sprung a leak and the rain fell so hard last night that the fireplace in my daughter’s room is sodden.

But apart from that we’re nearly set for Christmas. My husband’s en route to collect the turkey (the first time he’s ever had to catch a ferry to do it!), I’ve wrapped all our presents and I’m looking forward to listening to A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, broadcast live from King’s College, Cambridge this afternoon.

In all the chaos there’s sure to be something I’ve forgotten but by Christmas Eve it’s too late to worry about anything. All that’s left to do right now is to say a big thank you for reading my blog in 2013 and wish everyone a very happy Christmas and brilliant New Year.
